Your Loved One Deserves The Best

When a family member or close friend passes away, the last thing we want is to be concerned about the Funeral Ceremony.

My name is Ron Samuel and as a Diplomaed Funeral Celebrant, my aim is to provide the best possible respectful and personal service to the family and friends of the deceased.

A personal funeral or memorial ceremony that can be a celebration of the life of the deceased is a fitting tribute to the one who has passed away, and can provide comfort to family and friends. An appropriate and personal ceremony can be a consolation and help with the grieving process.

I will meet with you and, with your knowledge of the deceased, create and conduct a ceremony that meets your needs and reflects the life of the one whom you have lost. I am happy to come to your home to discuss your wishes for the funeral ceremony. I will write the eulogy based on the information you give me at this meeting. I encourage family and friends to be included in the ceremony by reading poems, readings or tributes to the deceased. I can help choose music and readings for the ceremony and am open to accommodating special requests that honour the deceased.

While there is no legally prescribed format for a funeral ceremony, most such ceremonies are made up of the following segments:

  • Selected music is played as the mourners gather
  • Introduction and condolences
  • Eulogy
  • Reflection
  • Committment.

Some ideas that will help celebrate the life of the deceased:

  • Flowers placed on the coffin during the Ceremony
  • Items special to the deceased placed on the coffin
  • Lighting of candles to symbolise the eternity of life
  • Acknowledgement of military/war service with prescribed ritual
  • Acknowledgement of service organisations such as Rotary, Freemasons, etc
  • DVD collage of deceased's life
  • Framed photo in front of the coffin
  • Any other manner or means that enhance the memory of the deceased.
