Calender of Events After Ron's Appointed as Your Marriage Celebrant!

  1. At our first meeting we will complete the NOIM in as much details as possible. Hopefully we can also complete the Legal requirements.
  2. At our first meeting we will talk about what you have in mind for your Marriage Ceremony.
  3. When you leave our first meeting you will have a folder of resources that I will give you. The most important thing for you both to do as soon as possible is to complete the Interview Sheet. It is this information that will form the basis of your unique Marriage Ceremony.
  4. When I get the completed Interview Sheet back from you, I will give all my attention to completing your Marriage Ceremony so that it will be just the way you imagined.
  5. The format of the Ceremony will be given to you by email, fax, etc with any changes and as many times as necessary.
  6. We will meet at least one more time so that we can go over the Ceremony in detail and I can cross the t's and dot the i's. Any final changes to the Ceremony are decided at this meeting.
  7. I always advise couples that a rehearsal is desirable. This should be at the Venue where possible and everyone in the Bridal Party should attend. this is so everyone involved can get accustomed to their role in your Marriage Ceremony.
  8. On the day of the Ceremony I will arrive at the venue at least a half an hour early so that I can make sure that my requirements are set up. I do ask that the Bride sticks as closely as possible to the prearranged time for the start of the Ceremony. My fee allows for about half an hour leeway in case of emergencies.
  9. It is very important that any readers you have asked to participate in your Marriage Ceremony practice their reading. It can be quite distressing to have someone step up to the microphone and struggle their way through a reading because they are not prepared.
  10. The Marriage Ceremony should not be longer than 30 minutes. It is my experience that any longer than 30 minutes becomes uncomfortable for the Bride, especially when the Ceremony is outdoors.
  11. After signing the register (the last official act of the Marriage Ceremony), I will, for the first time, introduce you to the assembled family and guests as a married couple. It is usual to introduce you as Mr and Mrs however this is not a requirement and there are other formats that can be used.
  12. This is when my involvement in your Marriage Ceremony ends and I will leave you to receive the congratulations of all.
