What if I am dissatisfied with your services as our Marriage Celebrant?

In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with the way I have conducted myself as your Marriage Celebrant, there is an official process that you can enter into to lodge a complaint against me. You will find the necessary forms in the Resource Folder I handed to you at our first meeting. As this is avery serious issue for any Marriage Celebrant you can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to ensure that you are perfectly satisfied with your Marriage Ceremony.

What if we want to get married in less than one month and one day?

It is possible to apply to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages for a shortening of this time, but it is most unusual for that to be granted. Exceptional circumstances need to exist for such a consideration. Please ask me for more details.

My Fiance is under 18 hyears old. Can we still get married?

Any person can get married in Australia provided that he/she is over 16 years old. However, between the ages of 16 and 18 it is a legal requirement that the permission of the parent or legal guardian be obtained. Alternatively application can be made to the Courts for permission to marry. No person under the age of 16 may legally marry in Australia.

I don't have all the documents you have asked for. What can I do?

Where it is impossible or impractical to obtain the required documentation due to forces beyond your control, provision has been made in the Marriage Act for a Statutory Declaration to be given with the particulars needed together with an explanation of why the original documents cannot be obtained. There are very strict conditions attached to the allowing of such Declarations and you will need to check with me for more details.
