Frequently Asked Questions of a Funeral Celebrant!
Do I have to use the Funeral Celebrant whom the Funeral Director recommends?
No! You are entitled to choose your own Celebrant. Just tell your Funeral Director that you wish to use Ron Samuel as your Funeral Celebrant or click here to contact me and I will contact your Funeral Director.
Who pays the Funeral Celebrant?
In most cases the Funeral Celebrant's fee is part of the inclusive fee that your Funeral Director charges, so they would pay me for my services as your Funeral Celebrant.
How do you as our Celebrant dress for the Funeral Ceremony?
I dress with respect for the occasion taking into account the type of Funeral Ceremony you and the family want. Generally I would dress in a dark suit with a light shirt and tie.
Who is a funeral for?
This may seem like a silly question, but it is one that is asked more and more. I firmly believe that a Funeral Ceremony is for the living. Of course the ceremony is to honour the life of the deceased person, but it is just as important that the Funeral Ceremony is used to say goodbye and to bring some comfort and closure to the ones left behind.
Do we have to have the Funeral Ceremony at the Funeral Director's or cemetery's chapel?
No! You can have the Funeral Service anywhere that is appropriate. Talk to your Funeral Director about your options.
I would like to have a copy of the Funeral Ceremony as a momento.
I will always give you a copy of the Funeral Ceremony to keep as a memory of your loved one.
Whose responsibility is it to organise the Funeral Ceremony?
It is usual for the family of the deceased to organise the Funeral, although the responsibility lies with the next of kin of the deceased or the executor of the deceased's estate.
Will you help us choose the music and readings which pay tribute to the deceased?
I have many readings, poems, spiritual prayers and music that I will share with you.
